Fixes and upgrades when your computer is in the way

Slow, broken, or just old: I find the real problem, explain your options in plain English, and get you working again. For homes and small businesses across Collier and Lee County.

Sound familiar?

At home

  • The computer takes forever to start, and every click comes with a wait.
  • Pop-ups, strange toolbars, or a browser that keeps redirecting.
  • It won't turn on, or it shows an error you've never seen before.
  • Years of family photos live on one drive, with no backup.
  • Something hasn't worked right since the last storm or power outage.

At work

  • A slow workstation is costing someone hours every week.
  • One machine keeps crashing, and it's always the one that matters most.
  • Client files live on a single computer with no backup.
  • A new hire needs a computer set up and ready to go.

What I do

Fixes first, upgrades where they make sense, and backups so it doesn't happen again.

Diagnose

I figure out what's actually wrong before replacing anything, and tell you honestly whether it's worth fixing.

Upgrade

Swap an old hard drive for a solid-state drive (SSD), add memory, or replace failing parts. It's often the most cost-effective way to get more life out of a computer.

Clean up

Remove malware and unwanted software, get updates current, and tighten up security settings.

Back up & recover

Set up automatic backups that run on their own, and help recover files when something goes wrong.

On-site help & return delivery

In-person help at your home or business across Collier and Lee County. When a repair is done, I can drop your computer back off to you.

Before the next storm: back it up

Power outages, surges, and water are real risks in Southwest Florida. A simple rule that works: keep three copies of what matters, on two different kinds of storage, with one off-site or in the cloud. I can set that up so it runs on its own.

  • Add a battery backup (UPS) and surge protection for the computers you rely on most.
  • Make sure backups actually finish, and that you can restore from them.
  • If a computer may have taken on water or a surge, don't keep trying to power it on. Reach out first.

Repair & upgrade FAQs

Is it worth fixing, or should I replace it?

It depends on the computer's age, condition, and what's wrong. I'll give you a straight answer, even when that answer is “replace it.”

Can you make my old computer faster?

Often, yes. A solid-state drive and more memory can make a big difference on an older machine. If an upgrade won't help much, I'll tell you up front.

Can you recover my files?

Sometimes. It depends on what failed. I'll tell you what's realistic before doing anything. Physically damaged drives may need a specialist recovery lab.

Will I lose my data?

Before any work that could affect your files, we'll talk about backing them up first.

Do you come to me?

Yes. On-site help is available at homes and businesses across Collier and Lee County, and when a repair is done, I can drop your computer back off to you.

Do you work on business computers?

Yes, from a single office PC to a small office full of workstations.
